Join The Honor Guard

The Idaho Army Honor Guard is an elite organization of individuals who are current members of the Idaho Army National Guard or are retired members of the United States Army. The Idaho Army Honor Guard demands excellence in all we do and is comprised primarily of volunteer members. To become a member of the Idaho Army Honor Guard a person must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an active member of the Idaho Army National Guard in good standing or a retired member of the United States Army.
  • Must have no negative actions taken against them in their military career
  • Must have a current PT card with a minimum passing score of 70% in each event
  • Must meet the height/weight standards for the Idaho Army National Guard
  • Must obtain a letter of recommendation from Company First Sergeant and Company Commander recommending them for membership in the Idaho Army Honor Guard
  • Must interview with and be selected by the Honor Guard coordinator from their region
  • Must sign and adhere to the Idaho Army Honor Guard standard of conduct and expectations
  • Must perform, at a minimum, one event per month and one training session per quarter
  • Must maintain military bearing, appearance, and dress blue uniform (issued upon acceptance into the Honor Guard) at all times
